Micon is thrilled to announce that KAREN NASH, MA, MPhil, MCIEEM, FRGS, has joined our team as Senior Environmental and Social Specialist

Karen will strengthen the Micon team by advising our clients on the planning and implementation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability performance strategies aligned with international guidelines and standards. Karen delivers expert technical advice on the assessment and management of environmental and social risks and impacts associated with project and program design and implementation, primarily in developing economies. Karen’s inputs address all project phases from conceptual, feasibility and impact studies through construction and commissioning, operations and eventual closure.

Karen is an advocate of local participation and training. She is adept at developing and delivering training and capacity-building workshops regarding environmental and social performance, including sustainability, social development, stakeholder engagement, human rights and biodiversity. She will assist Micon in delivering consultancy services in environmental and social due diligence, impact assessment, management and auditing. Karen will also advise and assist our clients on the approaches to establishing and maintaining productive relationships between operations and local and regional stakeholders. She is equally skilled working in French and English, with additional abilities in Portuguese and Spanish, and a smattering of conversational Arabic and Russian reflecting a keen linguistic and cultural interest.
